ATTENDANCE

Tech Journey programs and activities are intended for youth ages nine and above with specific ages listed in the program’s description. A parent or legal guardian must register each student for each activity following the designated registration process. A parent or guardian may be required to remain on-site during in-person activities with any child under age 13. For virtual activities, we strongly recommend a parent or guardian be present with younger, less experienced students to provide guidance on navigating multiple windows while working in virtual webinar/meeting applications.

Use of Tech Journey computer systems may be granted to students attending an activity. Tech Journey will not create personally-identifiable accounts for students under the age of 13 within its computer systems or any online resources required by the activity. CODE OF CONDUCT

If unacceptable or negative behavior occurs at an activity, staff and volunteers will attempt to redirect the participant. Positive verbal communication along with time given to correct the behavior, shall accompany the redirection. On occasions when redirection is unsuccessful in resolving negative behavior, the student’s parent/guardian will be notified and the student will be removed from the activity or program for an appropriate time to be determined by staff.

Unacceptable or negative behavior is defined as an individual who: uses physical force against others, misuses equipment or associated property, is unable to maintain control, uses inappropriate language, or behaves in a harassing or disrespectful manner to other youth or adults.

PRIVACY POLICY

We may disclose your name and child’s name to our affiliates for the purpose of entering a secured facility or virtual meeting for attending an activity. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for additional details.

MEDIA RELEASE

Photos may be taken at activities and those photos may be used in promotional and marketing materials by Tech Journey, Inc., and/or its affiliates. As parent/guardian with legal responsibility for participants, you consent to your child being in photos or videos while involved in a Tech Journey activity for the purpose of sharing, in both print and electronic media forms, what Tech Journey and its affiliates does with our community. You give Tech Journey and its affiliates the irrevocable right to use, reproduce, or publish your child’s image and likeness, in all forms (including photographs and video) and all types of media, for any lawful purpose. You also waive any right to approve or inspect the finished product, including written copy. You additionally waive any right to compensation arising or related to the use of your child’s image and likeness.

LIABILITY WAIVER & RELEASE

In consideration of your child participating of a Tech Time activity, you acknowledge, fully understand, and willingly agree that some activities carry inherent risks. You knowingly and voluntarily assume all risk, both known and unknown, even risk from the negligent acts or omissions of others, and assume full responsibility for your child’s participation. You waive any and all claims against and fully release from liability Tech Journey, Inc. and its affiliates, for any damages, claims, injuries, losses, or lawsuits resulting from your child’s participation in registered activities. You further agree to indemnify and hold harmless Tech Journey, Inc., including its leadership, staff and volunteers, from any harm or damages that may occur directly or indirectly by your child’s participation.

FOR PARENTS/GUARDIANS OF PARTICIPANTS UNDER 18

This is to certify that I, as parent/guardian with legal responsibility for this participant, am informed about the types of activities, events, and programs offered by Tech Journey, Inc. and I consent to my child’s participation. Additionally, I do consent and agree to the Attendance Policy, Code of Conduct, Privacy Policy, Media Release and Liability Waiver and Release above. I also release and agree to indemnify and hold harmless Tech Journey, Inc. from any and all liabilities incident to my minor child’s involvement or participation in these programs as provided above, even if arising from their negligence, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
