In this beginner workshop, learners age 9 and above will engineer a jousting stick that attaches to a Finch Robot. Participants will be instructed and challenged in a safe and supportive environment to program the Finch to autonomously move and knock a ping pong ball off a cup. Learners will be introduced to the Finch Robot and to programming it with forward, backward, and turn blocks using the Snap! programming language while they engage in the engineering process, collaborate, and problem solve.
- Learners who have completed Hour of Code or worked some in Scratch will find this topic to be a great next step in their learning journey.
- No coding experience is necessary but comfort with a keyboard and mouse is required.
- A parent or guardian is required to complete the registration process and learners under the age of 13 require a parent or guardian to be present during the workshop.
- Please review our program policies before registering.
NOTE: If you need to cancel a reservation, please contact us so the reservation may be made available to someone else.
