Opening Session
9:00 to 10:15 am, Room 148
This general session for all participants includes a welcome to Tech Camp 2024, introductions, a keynote address and an overview of this year’s camp experience.

Orientation

Students new to Tech Camp in 2024 will attend an orientation to learn more about Tech Journey and what it means to be a student of the Tech Camp program. Devices will be handed out to students needing equipment.

Tech Education & Careers Panel
10:30 am to 12:00 noon, Fellowship Hall/Cafeteria
Upperclass students who have been to Tech Camp a few years will take part in a tech education and careers discussion with directors from Tech Journey.

Congressional App Challenge Q&A

Students will get an overview of the 2024 Congressional App Challenge which is hosted by Members of Congress for their district. Check out the flyer in your registration packet for more information.

Intro to Coding
This session introduces first-year Tech Camp students to the foundations of coding with Scratch, a block-based programming language and community for bringing fun projects to life! Did you know Scratch was developed and is supported by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Media Lab?

3D Modeling
Introduce students to CAD with OnShape, an online product development platform that enables teams to focus on the design phase of the engineering process.

This session introduces students to the basics of electronics and designing a circuit.

GitHub
This session introduces students to the basics of GitHub.

Agile & Software Delivery
Tech Camp students in their last year of the program will be introduced to the various methods and tools of Agile as they develop a role-based software product “for management.” Technical mentors will be assigned to a small team of students as they work to mob program a prototype using front-end web development tools.
