Rookie FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) Team 19415, C3 Robotics (Create * Construct * Code), was formed May 2021. The community-based team is comprised of ten students ranging from 7th to 11th grade and come from the communities of Cumming, Des Moines, Norwalk, Urbandale and Waukee.
Each season, FTC teams are challenged to design, build, program, and operate a robot under autonomous and driver-operated modes. FTC teams participate in competitions and engage in outreach, fundraising, problem-solving, coding, and engineering. Guided by adult coaches and mentors, students develop STEM skills and practice engineering principles, while realizing the value of innovation, teamwork and working hard.
For the FTC 2021-2022 Freight Friendly season, the team participated in five league meets between November 2021 and January 2022. During league meets, C3 Robotics won the highest robot game score at three of the five competitions.
On Saturday, January 22, 2022, C3 Robotics participated in the Nevada League Qualifier event with 29 other central Iowa FTC teams. C3 Robotics received the following achievements and awards:
- Finalist Alliance Member
- Robot Game Score Ranking #8
- Connect Award 2nd Place
